TV Land Is Ideal For Lovers Of Classic Television
For those of use who find current television programming a little too heavy on reality shows and true crime stories there is a welcome alternative on TV Land.
It seems that even the sitcoms these days want to explore financial, social and relationship strife but sometimes I want to escape reality and just laugh a little. This is when I tune into TV Land for some classic entertainment and programs such as I Dream of Jeanie or Bewitched where the most vexing problem might be a nosy boss or neighbor. I may catch an episode of Roseann or Home Improvement where the families are a little more realistic but still relatively carefree.
Another television genre nearly extinct on network channels but alive and well on TV Land is the western. While Marshall Dillon and Miss Kitty must deal with the challenges of living in the Wild West their problems are far removed from those I face on a daily basis. The Cartwright boys don’t back down from a fight but their scripted brawls are much more palatable than the smack downs portrayed on certain reality programs.
TV Land is my destination when I need nothing more than the light entertainment offered by shows of yesteryear or when I just need a Steve Urkel fix.
